This isn't a solution, but is an automated workaround. You may want to try to figure out which service is causing it, and set a cron job to restart that service on a regular basis. Alternatively, if you can't pin down the service, you can set a cron job to restart the server regularly.
I wish I could otherwise help you. Any postfix environment I've worked with has been controlled, and using authentication hasn't been necessary.
